Ctro. de Interpretación Hoces del Esva
The Interpretation Centre tries to bring visitors through the various media, some interactive, simulating virtual flight over the Esva basin to experience the rich natural, human and artistic Valley de Paredes.
It is dedicated to the Otter (chóndriga), as the Esva is almost certainly the largest river in Europe with population of otters, which gives us an idea of the superb quality of its waters.
On the ground floor a projection is provided with an approach to the history of the Valley that has had a continuous population from the Palaeolithic which can be seen in the remains of forts, dolmens, standing stones and Roman ruins.
Also on the ground floor, there are two interactive computer of flight simulation in 3D, allowing an aerial tour of all the towns running along the Esva river basin.
On the second floor, some monitors allow us to know the entire ecosystem of the Esva river and its bank. In addition to the varied flora, we can see newts, eels, trout, salmon, lizards and various animals that live in the forest and nearby.
The center is specially designed for Schools and High schools, because of you can spend a whole day working on different areas of teaching:
Physical Education making a path for the elderly or team games, with the names of the various species that inhabit the river like Otters against eels or wolfs against wild boars.
Science: looking at the flora, fauna, rocks in its whole diversity.
Geography: Studying the topography, erosion, tributaries, population, etc.
History: There are archaeological remains from the Paleolithic, Neolithic, forts, dolmen, menhirs, Estela Funeral Home, Roman roads and bridges, etc.
The Teaching Center has exercises and games for the youngest visitors and we have continue to develop different materials.
