El Parque de la Vida

El parque de la vida is a landmark in scientific outreach, especially among children and youth through the study of the natural environment, the animal world and space. On a plot of 32,000 m² adjacent to the Centro de recuperación de species that CEPESMA managed in La Mata, these facilities are located aimed at promoting renewable energy and environmental study.

Over a distance of about one kilometre by a privileged environment we find ourselves with different units of climate measurement and two weather stations.

If we stop to think what is the most amazing picture ever made, there is no doubt that the one made from the Space, one in which we saw for the first time the entire human species in conjunction with nature and the environment. This image has been a milestone in the understanding of our ecosystem. Just watching the whole earth, valuing it as a whole, we could find the real interest to protect and preserve it. It is no coincidence that all the information panels spread throughout the park have a spherical shape. The world is unique and such as must be preserved. The global warming is the link between the five areas that we wanted to present in a unique natural environment.

Areas of Park:

La senda de la vida (The path of life): A journey about the life on the planet, from the primitive stages three million years ago, when it had its origin in the water, until our days touring the unique circumstances of this journey.

Fauna y botánica (Animals and botanists): Throughout the space occupied by the park has been planted with forests and about 2000 native trees, and you can see and have contact with living nature.

Expacio exterior y universo (Outer Space and Universe): This area is dedicated to Space research and the Universe, taking center stage models of the Apollo XI and the Ariane 5. The observatory is surrounded by an elliptical that recreates the planets to scale, and the planetarium which has the first digital projector in operation in northern Spain.

Consumo sostenible (Sustainable consumption): Using objects and household utensils, we propose the alternative of a more responsible consumer encouraging the respect for the environment.

Estudio del clima (Climate study): During a tour of approximately 200 meters it have been installed two meteorological stations, a digital one and the other analog consisting of sixteen units of measurement.
