A highway and two national roads approaching the town to the central area of Asturias: The A-8; the N-632, known as "coastal road"; and the N-634, also being the last communication with Galicia. Superb viaducts demarcates the coastal path of both roads, significantly shortening the distance.

There are many accesses to Valdés, by regional roads from neighboring councils. From San Martín de Luiña, Cudillero town, parts the AS-222, which connects in Brieves with the N-634. From Naraval, in Tineo, one arrives at Almuña by the AS-220 and at Luarca by the AS-219. Communication with the municipality of Villayón is done through the parish of La Montaña, by the AS-36, linking with Navia through the Vidural High.

Valdes  is also accessible by rail, from the center of Asturias and from Galicia, as well as by sea, presenting the port of Luarca -with situation 43 º 32 '58'' North Latitude and 6 º 31' 57'' West Longitude- optimum conditions for the docking of leisure boats.
